Peggys Cove Area Festival of the Arts

The beauty of The Peggy's Cove Region inspires many artists, be they painters, potters, sculptors,  woodworkers, etc. Art studios dot the roadways in the region but are often hard to find. Many artists work from their homes or use the great outdoors as their studio. The purpose of this festival is a celebration of art presenting opportunities for you to meet a large gathering of artists and view and purchase their wonderful work.

Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts July 4th to 16th, 2018

Already a highly anticipated event locally, the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts has become a "must-do" for art lovers and visitors to our area. With a variety of events taking place between July 4th and 16th, 2018 you’ll find something to delight you in this exceptional place that inspires so many artists.

Our coastal arts festival will be highlighted by three main events in 2018, including “Opening Night”, “Studio Tour”, and live painting experience, “Paint Peggy’s Cove.”

Paint Peggy’s Cove is a three-day event that highlights the beauty and heritage of the shorelines, fishing village, and surrounding area. Artists will bring brushes, oils, watercolours, pastels, and pencils to create new works inspired by this unique Nova Scotian community by setting up on the rocks, wharves, and park areas. Once complete, each day’s works—as well as studio pieces by the same artists—will be on view and for sale in a large Mongolian yurt located a short walk from the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse.

Watch artists at work, soak up the views, and fall in love with a painting as it is being created. There will also be demonstrations by local artisans and a children’s art tent offering a variety of free creative activities.

This three day event takes place on Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th and Monday 16th of July, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
