The hidden gem in this region are the tidal pools full of ocean life that is left behind when the tide recedes. The most accessible pools are found on the ocean side of route 333 to the east of Peggy's Point Road. These pools are teeming with a variety of sea creatures that live on the ocean floor - mussels, clams, starfish, amoeba, sea urchin, etc. There are great spots for the kids to explore when the tide is out. A tidal pool can also be found at the end of the parking lot at the Peggy's Cove Visitor Information Centre. Once you see the bench, follow the path down.
