Bay Bounty and Bargains! Giant Yard Sale, May Holiday Weekend
Yard sale enthusiasts, area residents, and business owners are looking forward to a great holiday weekend in May, when hundreds of balloons will lend a festive air to vending sites along the Prospect Road, Peggy's Cove Road, and St. Margaret's Bay Road, from Upper Tantallon to Hubbards.
Bay Bounty and Bargains! is one of the special events planned to celebrate Peggy's Cove Bicentennial, and everyone is warmly invited to join the fun.
Residents and business operators may decide to set up on their own properties, or join forces with neighbours on a common site, or bring their wares to one of the multi-vendor sites that the committee has confirmed. Visit www.peggyscove.orgfor updated information on the available venues and contact details. This information will also be posted on websites of various community organizations throughout the region.
All participating vendors are invited to pick up balloons from the designated sites listed below, and to display a cluster or two to attract the attention of prospective buyers. Balloons are available at the following pick-up points: Prospect Road Community Centre in Hatchet Lake; the Whale's Back in Indian Harbour; Redmond's Home Hardware at Redmond's Plaza in Upper Tantallon: and the Aspotogan Heritage Trust in Hubbards. Sincere thanks are extended to all concerned for this kind support.
Community organizations, schools, churches, service clubs, youth groups, homeowners' associations and other interested groups are especially encouraged to view the
Bay Bounty and Bargains!giant yard sale as an opportunity to fundraise for their own purposes through bake sales, brunches, suppers, craft sales, car washes, etc. The event planners greatly appreciate the welcome assistance received from all multi-vendor sites and enthusiastic participants throughout the area.
