Mackerel fishing is a very popular sport in our area. In season, you will see local fisher people selling their catch on the side of the road. You can catch your own simply by drooping a baited line in the Bay. The Government Wharf in Boutilier's Point is the most popular spot to mackerel fish in the Tantallon area. You will find several locals fishing there and they will be happy to advise you as to what bait to use, etc. One of our local fishermen docks there and often sells haddock from his boat. If you have a boat this is where you launch it.
The Wharf and boat launch are located in Boutilier's Point just off route 3 in Bay LookOut Park, a small park that has been let in its natural state but does contain picnic tables.
